Looking for improvement in high frequency response? Replacing your grid leak resistor with Grid Choke — easy replacement but a big result.
This is one of those major tweaks that lets you hear every single well-spent penny. This is the “Ultimate Inductor” since its inductance is more than 7,000 Henry at 12Hz while having very low DCR of just 1.3K ohm. AC impedance at 1KHz is more than 5 Mega ohm! AND it has a very low parasitic capacitance of only less than 20pF. This is one-tenth of the typical tandard grid resistor. The improvement in high frequency response is immediately noticeable.
Is there any current limit that the grid choke can only handle? What current is it intended to handle?
The Grid Choke should be working with no DC current as much as possible. But we have tried 100 to 500 micro amps and it still performs well.
